eLearning Media has a dedicated development department to address our clients' needs regarding integrations and applications.
Through this department, software based on standards (One Edtech) and integrations (SIS, CRM, other systems) is developed and maintained, using our own methodology and a set of cloud native technologies.
Our team has developed, drawing on extensive experience in edTech, a series of standardizations (processes, libraries, services) that make it possible to create applications more quickly, robustly, and scalably. This provides a clear benefit to clients compared with individual developers or generalist development companies.
We are currently in a transition process, shifting our focus from custom development to an offering of edTech applications provided as a service through an annual subscription. This includes hosting the solutions in the cloud and providing corrective maintenance, resulting in better service for our clients.
Our development team does not provide consulting services for developments created by clients or by clients' providers, for several reasons:
- The industry standard is to support one's own developments and ensure the proper functioning of one's own APIs and services.
- There is a great disparity of technologies and applications that can interact with common APIs and standards in edTech. At Edudevel, we do not have experience with every possible combination and focus on the continuous improvement of our tools.
- There are different levels of experience among external developers, as well as different levels of exposure to edTech standards.
- In light of the points above, it is not feasible to analyze client or provider applications that were not developed by us.
- Edudevel does not have consulting profiles for knowledge transfer.
The best alternative that can be offered to clients who develop applications internally or through third parties is to consult the publicly available documentation on the standards and APIs of Blackboard,
- Documentation for the Blackboard /Anthology API https://developer.blackboard.com/
- Blackboard /Anthology developer documentation, with guides and tutorials https://docs.blackboard.com/
- Anthology Developer Community and Slack Techies (access through the previous link)
- It is also recommended to explore Anthology's partnership options for developers, which provide greater support, access to development environments, etc.… https://docs.blackboard.com/docs/partners/partners-become_a_partner
- Documentation on 1EdTech standards, https://www.1edtech.org/
