Content remains one of the key components of a course and can be offered to students in various formats, more or less structured, or didactically organized so that working with it is more focused on making learning more efficient.
Content in SCORM format indicates that it has been designed and developed with an external tool and a file or package has been generated with a series of characteristics defined by this communication standard between content and training platforms, which allows:
- Tracking which content a user has viewed and which they have not from the total content.
- Obtaining scores from exercises, questions, and activities.
- Providing a final grade based on completion of viewing, the score obtained, or both.
Uploading a SCORM to a Course
This option allows us to upload and display a SCORM package developed with external editing tools, such as Softchalk or Articulate.
We will upload the zip file generated by our editing program, and Learn will handle displaying its navigation and structure. Among the available options are assigning an expiration date, setting it as gradable, and allowing multiple attempts.
In the case of gradable SCORMs, we will need to configure how we want the grading to behave on the platform once the student has completed the attempt in the content.
It is important to note that, for the grading to work properly, the completion and grading parameters of the package must have been correctly configured in the content authoring tool so that it communicates the desired data to the platform and not others.
