To add content packages we have two options: IMS or SCORM. The first appears in the Resources tab, the second in the Activities tab when accessing to add a new element to the course. The difference between the two? The fact that they are in their respective tabs should already give you a hint...
To add a package, select the resource or activity from the corresponding tab and fill in the name and description. A little further down, upload the IMS or SCORM package and save.
In the case of SCORM, we will need to configure the parts related to grading, attempt management, and compatibility settings.
- Grading: Select the grading method for SCORM learning objects, which can be the highest grade, the average, the sum, or the number of completed learning objects... and the maximum number of points to be obtained.
- Attempt management: Here we can select the number of attempts the student can make, as well as the grade that will be passed to the gradebook: the highest, the lowest, the first attempt, or the last attempt. With the last two options, what we do is count an attempt just by entering the SCORM, and it will lock so no further access is possible after all attempts are used.
- Compatibility settings: These options are used with SCORM to ensure that the completion of the package is saved, or that upon finishing with one SCO it automatically moves on to the next one.
