By accessing the dropdown menu on the gear icon, we will see several extra options for forums:
If we click on Subscribers, we can see who is subscribed to the forum, as well as subscribe or unsubscribe users.
Initially, you will see the list of subscribers. You can manage it by selecting Manage subscribers from the dropdown and moving them from one box to another by checking their names and clicking Add / Remove. If there are many users, it may be helpful to first search by first or last name. When you are done, simply navigate to another page.
If you open Subscription mode in the gear menu, you will see a quick way to change the subscription type of the forum in question, without needing to enter the activity editing. Open the menu, choose the mode you want, and that's it.
Export is used to download all filtered forum messages either in a printable format, CSV, or plain text. We will use the dropdowns to select the discussion and/or participant we want and the export format, finishing by clicking the Export button.
Advanced grading will allow us to access advanced grading methods and change the one used to evaluate the forum. By selecting rubric, for example, we can also access its configuration (either by creating a new one or by using an already created template).
First choose the grading type to use from the dropdown, and then you can configure each of the methods.
Can I see who posts and who doesn’t in my course?
Use Reports to analyze a table with course users, number of messages sent, replied to, marked as important, etc.
You can even limit results by dates by clicking on Date above the table. At the bottom, you have options to download the list, and for each user, in the last cell of the row, a button to export their forum contributions.
