Setting up a forum to be gradable
In the forum settings, you can mark it as gradable under the header Whole forum grading.
Choose the type of grade between None, Scale, and Point.
If you choose Scale, select the scale you will use to grade from the scales defined in the system. If you choose Point, add the maximum value.
Now, select the grading method. Simple direct allows you to add a score. Other methods are checklist, rubric, or guide, and must first be defined from Advanced grading.
Choose the grading category in which to add this activity from the existing ones.
You can set a passing grade that you can later use to configure completion rules.
Finally, decide whether Notify students is selected or not.
Save to finish.
Grading student contributions
To grade a student's work in a forum, access it and click Grade users.
At this point, the grader will load, showing the messages from that student for review, and on the right panel, we can add the grade we will assign them.
Select whether to send a notification to the student or not, and click Save.
You can navigate between students using the arrows next to their name, search for a specific user using the magnifying glass, and hide/show the grading bar using the top buttons with arrows.
The interface is similar if you have chosen other grading methods like Rubrics or Checklists; simply select/mark the necessary options in the side panel instead of adding a numeric grade.
