Blackboard provides an analysis of student participation in forums that can be very insightful. You can access this analysis in the Student Activity tab, either from within the discussion itself or by clicking the ... icon and selecting Student Activity.
Here you will see an analysis of student participation in this discussion, including data such as the number of active students, average posts, word count, and average grade in the case of graded discussions.
In the area for students who have not participated, you can directly send a message to all of them by clicking the envelope icon. At the bottom, you will see the messages with the most replies and the most active participants. You can click on their names to access their grading page.
If you are looking for an analysis of a specific student's participation, go to the grading page and click Show Discussion Analysis on the ... icon next to their grade. This analysis provides a series of data that can help us grade each student, including information such as sentence complexity, word variation, and critical thinking.
If you want more information about these values or how they are calculated, click on the i or the help link at the bottom of the analysis panel.
