Blackboard will allow us to analyze the questions used in an exam. By analyzing these results, we can work on improving the questions and/or materials of our course.
You can access the analysis from the exam itself by clicking on the Question Analysis tab or from the course's top menu by clicking Statistics > Question Analysis. This access from Statistics will show you all the exams in the course, and you can choose which one you want to analyze.
By clicking Run Report, the data will be collected and you will receive an email when the report is ready. You can then access it by clicking the name of the assessment.
The report will show you information about average score, questions, attempts, and average time used. Discrimination and Difficulty help us review which questions were answered correctly and which were not, and how well those questions discriminate between students who know the material and those who do not.
Below, you will see a table with all the information for each question, including its difficulty, average score obtained, or the number of users who did not answer the question despite having it in the exam. You can download this table for further analysis.
These results improve with the number of attempts: the more attempts each question has, the more reliable the analyses are.
