Sometimes we encounter the need to adjust certain parameters of a quiz or assignment for particular students, or for a work group within the course.

Open LMS allows us to edit these settings for individuals and groups using exceptions. You can access the exceptions editor for users and groups from the quiz or activity administration menu, via the gear icon.

To add user exceptions, you will need to have users with access to the quiz or assignment. Likewise, you will not be able to add group exceptions if you do not use groups in the course.

To add a user exception, once you click the corresponding link in the course administration menu, click Add user exception.

Locate the student, configure the quiz opening and closing dates for them, as well as the attempt duration, number of attempts, and also if you want to add a password for this particular student. When finished, click Save.

To add a group exception, follow the same steps, but select a group from the dropdown list of already created groups instead of a student.
