Automations allow us to perform certain actions in the course when a specific condition is met. We can access and configure these automations from Course Assistants > View Automations in the sidebar. Once there, you will see the automations you have set up in the course and their status.
There are three types of automations that we can add by clicking + New Automation.
- Send congratulatory message allows us to set up a message that will be sent to the student when a certain grade obtained exceeds the established threshold.
- Send support message allows us to set up a message sent to the student when a certain grade obtained falls below the established threshold.
- Send comment reminder allows a reminder to be sent to students who have not reviewed the feedback given by the instructor after a certain number of days.
To create a new automation, we will add a title and select which of these three we are going to create by clicking Configure > for the chosen one.
Done. Afterwards, we will edit the message to be sent to the student by clicking the pencil. Click Done when finished editing, review everything, click Save and that’s it.
In the list of automations, we can access options to edit, duplicate, deactivate, or delete from the ... icon.
If you want to view the automation activity log, you can click on it and select the Activity Log tab to view the action taken, the student who received the message, and the item that triggered it.
