To have access to the latest features of Illuminate, you need to have institutional authentication. If your Illuminate instance was created a while ago, it is very likely that you have local authentication and use a specific login for Illuminate.
In that case, you must migrate the authentication to this new model.
To do this, log in to Illuminate and click Developer in the menu.
You will see a blue banner indicating that the migration is available. Click to start it. If your Blackboard instance uses internal authentication, you will see a message warning you that users not selected in the list will be deleted and their work sheets will be lost.
Then select Blackboard Learn as the IdP and click Next.
If you have multiple active authentication methods in Blackboard, however, you will see another message indicating that this automatic migration is not possible.
In this case, you will need to contact Blackboard support to prepare this migration. You will have to choose whether to use Blackboard or one of the other systems as the IdP.
Once this migration is completed, you will be able to add users from Illuminate and manage their roles and access to specific data from there.
