Sometimes we need an exam to be taken in a specific building, area, or room, or connected to a particular network. Blackboard allows administrators to define IP ranges and associate them with a specific name that we, the instructors, can then link to a particular exam in its settings.
If your administrator has defined IP ranges, simply access the exam you want to restrict and click the gear icon to open the settings panel. Locate Location Restriction and select from the dropdown the name of the room, building, or network your students must use to access the exam.
Save to finish.
From this point on, students will not be able to access the exam unless they are connected to one of the IPs specified in the range.
