Blackboard allows us to copy individual items between courses if we are instructors or have similar privileged roles in both the source and target courses.
Copying Content Between Courses
To do this, from the target course, access the menu by clicking the three-dot icon within the course body, or the +, and choose Copy Items.
Here, you will see a list of courses and organizations from which you can copy these items. Each will have a checkbox that you mark to select and copy to your target course. To access an item and see what it contains, click the arrow.
Each item you select will be added to the list on the right. You can choose items from different courses in a single operation; just navigate using the breadcrumbs and continue selecting.
Once you have everything selected, review the list on the right and click Start Copy to proceed.
Notice that you can select a folder, group, or module, or even an entire course. Selecting an item that contains others will copy everything inside the selected item.
The difference between the two methods is the location of the copied items (at the end of the content when using the three-dot menu, and at the point where you selected the + in the other), although some items like question banks or rubrics only appear from the three-dot menu.
Copying individual items between courses will set them as Hidden from students.
Duplicating Content
What if we want to copy an item within the same course? Perhaps to avoid starting from scratch, or to have two similar versions of an assignment for students to complete, or materials/folders to be released by group...
To perform this action, click the three-dot icon on the item to duplicate and select Duplicate.
