Although the system administrator can handle the creation, publication, and data collection of institutional surveys, it may be useful to designate one or more accounts to perform this survey creation and management function.
To do this, we will assign the system role of Survey Author to those users who will be in charge of them.
Each survey author will only have access to the surveys they have created or that are assigned to them by administration. As creators and owners of these surveys, they have all permissions over each one and can allow other users with the survey author role to access them. If multiple authors are assigned to the same survey, all have full permissions, so care must be taken not to “overwrite” each other’s work.
To coordinate the work of these authors, it is recommended to create a custom system role that acts as an administrator of all surveys: Copy the Survey Author role and assign the privilege Admin Panel (Tools and Utilities) > Institutional Surveys (access to all surveys in the system).
