Assigning a space quota to courses and organizations is considered a best practice for managing our LMS. Keeping the size of courses and organizations in check helps us avoid unnecessary costs, as well as making backups more reliable and easier to restore.
Assigning the default limit
To assign a default limit to all courses in the system, go to Admin Panel > Courses > Course Settings and click Default Course Size Limits. Select Limited, then enter the maximum allowed size in MB.
Click Submit to save the changes.
When we set a limit, the course instructor receives a message as they approach the limit, indicating how much space they have left. When this happens, they may contact the administrator to request more space.
Making exceptions for certain courses
If you need to change the allowed size limit for a particular course, you can do so from the course list. Admin Panel > Courses > Courses and search for the course whose limit you want to modify. Open the menu, select Spaces, and you can select/edit the size limit. You will be able to see the current size on the same screen.
