A large number of failed login attempts on a user account could pose a security risk. If Blackboard is involved in the authentication process (that is, if we use the "default" or "LDAP" authentication types), we can decide the number of allowed attempts before the user account is locked to protect it from unauthorized access.
By default, an account is locked after five failed login attempts.
Administrators can disable this feature or configure it according to our needs in Admin Panel > Security > Account Lockout Settings.
We will define the maximum number of failed attempts allowed within a given period, as well as the duration for which accounts remain locked, and whether they are automatically unlocked when users reset their password.
