Thanks to the Custom Certificates module in Open LMS, you can easily generate certificates with a PDF template automatically.
This functionality allows you to create Certificate templates that can be incorporated into any course as an additional activity. In this way, each student can download their personalized certificate whenever they want, based on the requirements previously configured in each course for obtaining it.
For example, in the same course, both a participation certificate and a completion certificate could be activated, the first open to all enrolled students, and the second, conditional on completing activities or passing tests.
And that’s not all; if you wish, you can include a verification code that will help validate the authenticity of the certificate.
Configuring Default Custom Certificates
From the gear icon, go to Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Custom certificate > Custom certificate settings. If you want anyone with the certificate to be able to verify its authenticity, check the box Allow verification of all certificates.
Below you will find links to verify certificates, manage already created certificate templates, upload images to use in them, and even download all certificates from the site.
Other options you can configure are the default certificate options, although each course can configure the certificate as desired:
Send email to students, teachers, others. Each of these options allows us to automatically send a copy of the certificate by email to the student who earned it, the course teacher, or another person (for example, the administration office).
You can also set the minimum required minutes to obtain the certificate, and prevent printing, modification, or copying of the resulting PDF.
Creating a Certificate Template
You can follow the steps in this article to design your certificate, but by accessing from the Manage templates link mentioned earlier, and then clicking Create template.
