Sometimes we need to access the system as a certain user. Maybe we need to see what this person is seeing. Or replicate an issue with their profile. For this, Blackboard allows us to impersonate without needing to know their credentials.
To impersonate a user, first of all your role must have sufficient privileges for it. The specific privilege is:
Admin Panel (Users) > Users > Log in asThe system administrator always has this privilege and can add it to other system roles, both existing and custom.
To use this functionality, go to Admin Panel > Users > Users and search for the user to impersonate. Open the contextual menu, and click Log in as.
When impersonating a user, we are acting as them, with all that this action entails. To reflect this access in the system log as ours, it is recommended to fill in the reason why we have impersonated this student.
Click Log in to start browsing as the selected user.
To return to your role, you will need to Log out and log in again. There is no method to stop impersonating and return to your original role.
