As administrators, we have the ability to set a maximum file size for files uploaded by users to courses, as well as restrict certain file types (for example, videos) that are not allowed to be uploaded.
Limiting the Maximum File Size
To configure this maximum file size, go to Admin Panel > Tools > System Settings and click on File Size Limits.
Add the maximum allowed file size in MB. This size must be between 25 MB and 2560 MB (2.5 GB).
Limiting File Types
It is also possible to create size limits by file type. This functionality is only valid for Ultra courses.
In this case, click Add Custom File Group.
Give the group a name, for example "Videos," and add the extensions you want to limit. Fill in the maximum number of MB allowed for this file type and save.
Check the boxes if you want to recommend alternative storage locations available at your institution (Kaltura, OneDrive, etc.) and/or to add a help link to direct users who try to upload a file that exceeds the limits.
Save, and you’re done.
These size limits do not affect the administrator user or roles that are granted the privilege "Users with this privilege can upload files regardless of size limit." Users with this privilege will have a fixed maximum file size of 10 GB.
If an administrator needs to upload a larger file, they must contact support through the Anthology support portal.
