Assignments are a type of activity that offers students a way to submit a document and/or text for us to evaluate. These activities have many configuration options, including the ability to restrict the type of file to be submitted (for example, accepting only PDFs), setting a due date, or even notifying graders of submissions so they can grade them.

We can add assignments using the activity selector. We will fill in the title and description and assign a due date. 

If we do not want to assign a due date, we can disable it, creating an activity that can be submitted at any time.

Assignments can be configured as individual or group work, graded with a number or with rubrics and other advanced grading types.

An interesting feature is that these assignments are displayed in the course along with the due date (green before it is due, red after), and also show us as teachers how many submissions have been made. The student, on the other hand, will see whether they have submitted the activity or not.
