Blackboard allows the import and export of content packages between courses. This option is especially useful when the recipient and the donor are in different environments. In the case of two courses hosted on the same server, it is much faster to copy items between courses.
We access the import and export options from the three-dot icon at the top of the course body.
The import and export options are separated in that menu. Click on the one you are interested in.
Importing Content
By importing a package, we can bring materials and tools prepared in another course into a different course.
In this same place, we have options to import items from a cloud storage system, the content store, and the institution’s content collection.
By selecting Import Course, we can import a package previously exported and saved on our PC.
Exporting a Package
By exporting, we create a package that we can import into a different course.
When we select this export option, two lists will appear: manual exports and automatic exports, which are course backups automatically created by the system every day.
You can download them by clicking on them.
If you prefer a manual copy, click again on Course Export Packages.
When you click on this option, you will be asked if you want to also export student data, thus creating a "snapshot" of everything that has happened in the course up to that moment (this would be a copy aimed at preserving all course data, including student interactions).
